Texts and photographs portray the fate of a man of deep faith, selfless service, and humanity. A teacher, educator, and humanist who, despite the tragedies of war and its aftermath, tirelessly helped those in need – poor children from Žižkov, Jewish children who survived the Holocaust, German children from internment camps, and Czechoslovak emigrants.

Přemysl Pitter, often overlooked in Czech memory, ranks among the most important European humanists. His life demonstrates that even in times of war and repression, one can act with courage and compassion. His work is not only a historical testimony but a lasting inspiration for today's society.
